Our story began in 1996 when Master Distiller Roberto Castagner decided to follow a dream, founding the distillery that bears his name. His mission was clear: to bring innovation to the world of grappa and make the distillate a symbol of Made in Italy modern and prestigious on a par with other international spirits. Passion, intuition and great dedication have been the determining elements of a path that in just a few years has led Distilleria Castagner to become one of the most important and recognised realities in the entire sector.
Master Distiller Roberto Castagner is still the fulcrum and mentor of our company, now assisted by the second generation who have joined the family business.
His nephew Carlo and his children Silvia, Giulia and Giovanni support him in the company's development, sharing his vision and demonstrating the same love for the family business.
Distilleria Castagner is recognised as one of the most innovative and advanced companies in its sector. A modern structure where the tradition of grappa is innovated through the use of highly technological equipment and systems, thanks to which we are able to distil softer and more elegant grappas and to propose revolutionary distillates to the market.
The jewel in the Distillery's crown is undoubtedly our barrique cellar: a silent temple where almost 3,000 cherry and oak barrels lie, housing the ageing of our grappas from a minimum of 12 months up to 23 years. The foresight of the Master Distiller was decisive in his decision to age part of the production from the very first year of activity and has made it possible to boast today a treasure trove of grappas with long ageing periods, kept in what we like to call our "caveau".
Grappa is a distillate of grape skin. The terroir, the climate and the way the grapes are cultivated unquestionably characterise its identity.
The Castagner Distillery stands on the slopes of the Prosecco Conegliano - Valdobbiadene hills near the historic Cerletti Oenological School, where Master Distiller Roberto Castagner and then his nephew Carlo graduated.
An extraordinary territory, dedicated to vines, wine and grappa.
