After successfully running a number of newspapers, in 1992 he took over from Montanelli to manage <strong>\u201cIl Giornale\u201d<\/strong>, increasing sales to 250,000 copies in just a few years. In 2000, he established <strong>\u201cLibero\u201d<\/strong> and, in 2009, he took back the reins at \u201cil Giornale\u201d. After briefly returning to run Libero, in 2011 he went back to il Giornale as a columnist.<\/p>\n<p>Roberto Castagner chose <strong>Vittorio Feltri<\/strong> as the winner of the <strong>first Premio Fuoriclasse Award<\/strong>, not only for his great professional qualities but also for his courage in \u201cstarting up his own business, clearly expressing his own ideas without compromises and providing the Italian press with a frank voice, able to speak to everyone with lucidity and honesty\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>On the same day, the former mayor of Venice, <strong>Massimo Cacciari<\/strong>, also received an honorary award, who brought with him the city\u2019s greetings, and <strong>Giancarlo Aneri<\/strong>, <strong>Massimo Donadon<\/strong>, <strong>Callisto Fedon<\/strong> and <strong>Giacomo Rallo<\/strong> became members of the <strong>panel of judges<\/strong> for the award.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Premio Fuoriclasse 2006 In 1962, aged 19, he began his career at \u201cL\u2019Eco di Bergamo\u201d newspaper.
